Oaktree Timber Frames

We specialise in all oak framed structures, including, but not limited to porches, carports, conservatories and orangeries. In truth we will undertake any oak framed project.

We are happy to incorporate and design considerations the client has, and where possible we will always try and meet the clients need.

Unlike some company Oaktree Frames offers the whole package. A normal project will be undertaken in the following order.

Handmade dovetail joints with incorporated mortice

Design

We will talk with the client, work out a design, and take all of the necessary measurements. We will then make a drawing of the project and get sign off.

Manufacture

Everything is handmade, by us. We do not outsource any manufacturing. All of our frames are manufactured in traditional methods, such as mortice and tenon joints, knee braces and dovetail joints.

Supply

Before the frame is delivered to site, we will do any of the required work. This may include foundations, walls and/or staddle stones. We will then deliver the frame to site.

Erection

Almost all of our work is done in the manufacturing phase. So once the frame is delivered there are very few changes done on site. This unusually means the erection phase is very quick. We will source any of the lifting equipment required. We use traditional seasoned oak pegs to erect the frame, this is done with a draw bore method. The hole and the peg are slightly offset, so when hammered home the joint is pulled tight.

Surface Glazing. Our preferred method for glazing. The oak capping board provides a seamless and waterproof finish.
